The program involves two parts:
- "Death in the Gym" video
- Computer generated death scene investigation.
Each session can accommodate up to 32 students. If there are 16 or fewer students, the program can run sequentially and only one teacher will be required. With more than 16 students the program is divided and at least two teachers/supervisors must accompany the group.
Students will team up in groups of four to work on the computers. Each team should have the following members:
- A Medical Investigator (an observant person)
- A Medical Examiner (a coordinator)
- Pathologist (an inquisitive person)
- A Toxicologist (an analytical person).
While at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner you will watch a video (which shows a small amount of autopsy footage) and follow a computer program to complete a death scene investigation.
