Types of Deaths Investigated and Certified
Undetermined Manner of Death
The undetermined manner of death is used for cases in which an investigation
is unable to establish whether the death was a homicide, suicide, or
accident, even though the actual cause of death may be known. In some
cases, both
the cause of death and the manner of death cannot be determined.
