Types of Deaths Investigated and Certified

Unclassified Manner of Death

The unclassified manner of death is used for any death in which a drug of abuse, including alchohol, is the underlying cause of death. This manner does not include deaths where drugs or alcohol contribute to the death, but are not the actual underlying cause of death.
