Yes. The Motor Vehicle Accident Claims Program (MVAC) paid the plaintiff on your behalf and our recovery agent (MVAR) collects the money back from you – think of it as an involuntary loan. If MVAC did not exist, the plaintiff would have to collect from you directly.

All the usual collection remedies are available if you do not cooperate to set up an acceptable lump sum payment or repayment plan. This includes seizure, garnishee, writs on personal property and suspension of drivers’ licences and vehicle registrations across Canada.
