The fact that a creditor marries or remarries will not change or end maintenance payable under a court order, unless the order specifically says so.

Some spousal support orders may say that support is ended or reduced by the creditor's marriage. If a debtor has a court order like this and believes the creditor has married, the debtor should contact MEP. Staff will investigate to see whether maintenance is still payable.
