Partners' responsibilities

The following partners work together in managing the AISH Benefits Administration Program. Each partner has specific responsibilities.

AISH Recipient

  • Voluntary participant
  • Works with primary contact person and:
    • Identifies needs/expenditures
    • Completes documentation
    • Participates in evaluation

Primary Contact Person

  • Links between AISH recipient and other partners
  • Assists AISH recipient with needs and expenditure identification
  • Completes Benefits Administration Instruction Form and Trust Agreement with the AISH recipient
  • Notifies partners of changes/termination of AISH recipient

Program Contact Person

  • Organizations identify a program contact person
  • Acts as a resource for the AISH recipient and the primary contact person
  • Maintains list (file) of all applications for and current clients in their program area whom are on the AISH Benefits Administration Program

AISH Administrator

  • Receives and reviews Trust Agreement for participation in the program
  • Forwards information to AISH Financial Benefits worker

AISH Financial Benefits Worker

  • Verifies the voluntary nature of the AISH recipient's participation
  • Forwards documentation to the Public Trustee
  • Arranges for redirection of benefits after Public Trustee finalizes Trust Agreement

Office of the Public Trustee

  • Determines appropriateness of trusteeship arrangement
  • Receives AISH benefits
  • Administers funds
  • Provides an expenditure history
  • Redirects medical services card to AISH recipient
