Time to register for annual Selinger tournament
Jerry Selinger, Q.C., Calgary’s former Chief Crown Prosecutor, died in May 2000 of primary pulmonary hypertension, a debilitating lung and heart disorder that affects both children and adults. Proceeds from the tournament will be split between the Peter Lougheed Centre Pulmonary Hypertension Greatest Needs Fund, which provides support to patients in Southern Alberta who suffer from primary pulmonary hypertension, and the HomeFront Jerry P. Selinger Memorial Fund, which provides counselling for children affected by domestic violence. A small portion of the fund also supports the Jerry P. Selinger Awards – an annual event that recognizes front-line workers who have shown courage and dedication in their fight against domestic violence. Last year’s event was an overwhelming success, raising $72,000. Tournament registration is $200 per person (includes snacks, golf, cart and evening banquet). To register, please contact Bobbi Turko (403) 943-0619, or e-mail bobbi.turko@calgaryhealthregion.ca.
