Victims of Crime
Consultation tours province
Calgary-Shaw
MLA Cindy Ady speaks to the news media in Grande Prairie during the second
stop in a seven-community, province-wide Victims of Crime Consultation
in late April and early May.
The consultation
heard from over 200 participants, including victims of crime, police,
victim assistance advocates, criminal justice officials, mental health
officials and others. Although we have come a long way since the
Alberta government first introduced legislation in 1991, there is more
work to be done to ensure that victims of crime
can access the services they need and deserve, said Ady. The MLA
report is expected to be submitted to the Alberta Solicitor General in
the fall.
